Heart to Heart
Peer Support For Pregnancy and Infant Loss
Losing a baby is devastating. We’re so sorry you’re here, and we’re so glad you found us.
We are Lindsay and Jessica, two mothers who met years ago after we both lost our first babies. We created Heart to Heart to help other grieving parents feel less alone after miscarriage, stillbirth, and neonatal death. Using the GPS Group Peer Support model, we hold a safe space for you to share your complicated range of thoughts and feelings. In our circle, you can ugly-cry, seethe with fury, and even laugh at the improbable moments of humor that shine through the darkness. You are not alone, and we’re here for all of it. We’ve been there, too.
We are immensely grateful to Michael Klahr Jewish Family Services for providing us with an accessible, comfortable location for our meetings. The mission of KJFS is to strengthen the individual, enhance the family, and protect the vulnerable. KJFS staff and volunteers welcome you and your family to be a part of our community in whatever way feels right and meaningful to you. Parents of all faiths, backgrounds, and circumstances are welcome here.
Please note that Heart to Heart meetings have been paused for summer 2019. We remember what it felt like in the early months following our losses, however, and we are both still here for you. We’re available to meet with parents in person in the greater Portland/Biddeford area, and from farther afield we can talk via text or email. You can reach Lindsay by phone or text or Jessica by email.
